The bluejays started slowly, registering their first hit late in the second inning curtesy of an infiled single to Ross Webber.
But this was not a problem as Ben Donald who started for the bluejays managed to hold out the Tomatoes to the same point.
But in the bottom of the third the tomatoes could be held no longer, scoring 3 runs due to some walks and good hitting.
The Bluejays hit right back though scoring Drew Halse after he singled to right field, which was then followed by base hits to Stuart Cox and Ben Donald.
After shutting down Frankston in the 4th, Ben Donald was relieved by David White who dominated, keeping Frankston scoreless in the 5th, 6th and 7th.
But during this time (6th and 7th) the Bluejays managed to take the lead scoring 6 runs on 2 three run homeruns. The first came after a walk to Ben Donald,
a base hit to David Hopkins which was followed by a monsterous blast from Tony Morris into the leftfield bleachers. The second 3 run home run, a line drive shot to left by David White,
followed Stuart Cox's second hit of the day, a double to centre, and a hit pitch ball to Ben Donald.
But Frankston would not rest. They scored a run in a the bottom of the 8th after a double to Ben Smith and a single to Simon Ratcliffe. The Bluejays, unable to score in the 8th and top of the 9th, went to the bottom of the 9th with a seemingly comfortable 3 run lead 7 - 4.
But after Bonbeach retired 2 of the first 3 hitters the flood gates opened. Frankston managed to reel of 4 base hits in a row, scoring the 3 runs needed to tie the game at 7 all.
The top of the tenth brought more action. Drew Halse managed to reach first on a wild pitch and then stole second. He then moved to 3rd on a ground out from JP Mcmullan. Drew was then scored on a first pitch single by Stuart Cox, his 3rd hit of the game, to centrefield.
So with an 8 - 7 lead the Bluejays moved to the bottom of the 10th, but again Frankston would not die. A lead off single to Daryl Dicker, his 3rd hit of the day, was followed by a ground ball that saw him put out at second. After David White retired the next hitter, once again the Bluejays seemed to have it won. But this was followed by a single, 2 hit batters and then the final single that broke the back of the Bluejays and ended their campaign.
So with the scoreline finishing at 8 - 9, and the Tomatoes crowned Premiers, Everyone got as pissed as possible and thought about what could've been.
