Alliance
Contracting: A Resource and Research Bibliography
Preface
This collation of
alliance contracting references has been undertaken by members of an informal
network of practitioners and researchers interested in developing effective
mechanisms for the delivery of projects. If you are interested in participating
please contact either Dr Peter Morgan or Dr Colin Duffield.
Abstract:
This report provides a detailed bibliography of recent publications relating to alliance contracts. Alliance contracts are defined as an agreement between parties to work cooperatively to achieve agreed outcomes on the basis of sharing risks and rewards. Alliance contracts have the potential to deliver substantial cost and quality benefits without the adversarial relationships common in more traditional contracts.
The references provided cover the breadth of topics encompassed by
alliance contracts and include: contracts, relationships, culture, stakeholder
perspectives and expected outcomes, conflict, power, trust, governance, process
and recent examples and applications of this project delivery system.
Keywords:
Alliance contracts, relationships, partnering, conflict
Introduction:
This bibliography has
been divided into important book length references and recent research
material.
In addition to this
bibliography, people interested in this area should consult the detailed
references provided by Walker et al (2000: 104-108).
