Sawing woodchip logs: a case study of eco-redesign for sustainability

This study examines the ecological and social equity benefits available from re-designing a forest wood production industry. The possibilities considered here are based on the case of the East Gippsland region in south-east Australia. In particular, recent research results and the beginnings of commercial alternative use for woodchip logs are examined. The paper also examines the political barriers to industry restructuring.
